PRLIS Phase-I: Govt sets Dec ’25 deadline

Hyderabad: The Telangana govt has directed officials to complete phase-I of the Palamuru-Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation Scheme (PRLIS) works by December 2025. It was decided to take up the Karivena reservoir and package-III canal works between Narlapur and Yedula, with completion expected by October 2025.
Telangana irrigation minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy held a meeting with irrigation officials at the secretariat on Saturday. He said that all reservoir works, including Narlapur, Yedula, Vattem, and Karivena, will be completed on time to ensure the impounding of approximately 50tmcft of water by December 2025.
During the meeting, the minister directed the release of 262 crore to Telangana Transco for the completion of a 400 kV substation at the pumping stations. It was also decided to conduct a dry run of the pump houses by July 2025.
